Okay, now on to what happened at the end of tonight’s Monday Night RAW during the Ascension Ceremony. This was a ceremony where Triple H was discussing the upcoming world-shattering title match that is planned for this Sunday’s Table, Ladders, and Chairs match. The match that will unify the WWE Championship and the World Heavyweight Championship.
First, current WWE Champion Randy Orton said his bit, showing off his arrogance. Then, John Cena, currrent World Heavyweight Champion said his peace after which offered out his hand to wish his opponent good luck.
The two shook hands briefly until Orton sucker punched Cena. There was a very brief fight between the two before the various superstars that were in the ring at the time broke them up.
A bigger brawl ensues when the following chain of events takes place…
(1) Randy Orton slaps CM Punk
(2) CM Punk doesn’t like that too much so he begins attacking Randy Orton
(3) Triple H comes to Orton’s rescue and throws Punk violently to the ground.
(4) CM Punk gets back up and attacks Triple H.
(5) Shawn Michaels interferes and lays a superkick on CM Punk knocking him out.
(6) Daniel Bryan comes from behind Michaels and gives him a flying knee, knocking him down.
(7) Randy Orton runs at Daniel Bryan and attempts an RKO but Bryan counters and throws him across the ring.
(8) During Orton’s trip across the ring, he runs into Stephanie McMahon, sending her to the mat.
(9) An angry Triple H, grabs Randy Orton and gives him a pedigree.
During the attack of Orton by Triple H, John Cena is seen, along with Kane, attending to Stephanie. After Orton is taken out by Triple H, he and the others help Stephanie up and the last frame of the show seen is Triple H, Stephanie, Kane and John Cena standing together.
Could this mean an alliance between Cena and the Authority?
Does this foreshadow who will win the unified championship at TLC on Dec 15 in Houston Texas. I guess we will find out on Sunday.
[Editor’s Note: This is my own personal opinion. I do not believe that the championships should be unified. The WWE, in my opinion, is making a huge mistake by slapping in the face decades of wrestling history by eliminating either of these titles. – Steve]
