ATR # 54: The Return of Lucha Underground & The Rock

This week on ATR we discuss the season two premiere of Lucha Underground, how the WWE tried to sign away the show’s talent, and why it is still the best wrestling program on television; an episode of Raw that I honestly can’t decide if I liked or not highlighted by a fantastic match between Dolph Ziggler and Kevin Owens, more progression in the Charlotte/Sasha Banks/Becky Lynch feud, AJ Styles taking on Chris Jericho, Bo Dallas out rapping Flo Rida in a surprisingly entertaining Social Outcasts segment, Vince McMahon finally is honest with the audience when he says that he “doesn’t care” how they feel, and The Rock doing what The Rock does best only to get (almost) outshined by The New Day; NXT included a pretty bad match between Nia Jax and Liv Morgan, Jason Jordan & Chad Gable debuted their new team name–American Alpha–which I’m not sure if I like or not, the return of Alex Riley, and a triple threat main event with a clusterfuck of a as-yet-to-be-determined finish; and finally ROH laying the foundation for their 14th Anniversary PPV setting the main event as Jay Lethal defending the ROH World Title against Adam Cole and Kylie O’Reilly in a really good in ring promo segment thanks to Lethal and Cole, Cedric Alexander doing double duty in two matches, and a fun triple threat main event between Michael Elgin, Jay Briscoe, and Moose.
